Rose begins to cry.
ROSE
Mom...that's cruel.
DOROTHY
Cruel? Perhaps.
Dorothy approaches Rose with slow steps. She leans
down and wipes away Rose's tears with her fingers.
DOROTHY
Rose, I love you. So much. And that's why your future, and the future of our business, means so much to me. Cruelty is a
key ingredient to success. You'll understand one day. You'll learn the way
things work and you'll fall in line.
Dorothy suddenly grabs Rose by the jaw with one
hand, squeezing her face.
DOROTHY
Because if you don't, you'll get worse than he did.
