ACT III

It's a beautiful day at Central Park. Raedale and Slater walk together down a winding path made of grey bricks.

RAEDALE
You sure about this?

SLATER
Man, how many times are you gonna ask me that?

RAEDALE
It's just that…you're nowhere near Dorothy's level. And you still haven't broken her inhibitor yet. You can't win if you fight her now.

SLATER
Don't worry. I’ve been training. I can take her this time. Then me and Rose can...Ah!

A flashing image of Rose. Slater grabs his head and grimaces. He stumbles. Raedale helps him to a wooden bench. They both sit.

SLATER
You don't understand know what it's like, man. To neuro-link with someone. To find that perfect match. The link shows you everything. Your entire relationship. The good times. The bad times. Every kiss. Every argument. Even our kids. Rose saw it, too.

RAEDALE
Have you ever considered that it might have been a mistake? A neuro-link doesn't guarantee a successful match.

SLATER
Maybe not, but it's worth a shot.
